What we call a security check is a pentest
We call it a security check; the technical term is a penetration test – pentest for short. It simulates a realistic attack on websites, applications or IT infrastructure. The goal is to identify vulnerabilities that can actually be exploited, before someone else does.
Four questions in focus

04Context
“We're too small” is not a security measure.
Many attacks are not targeted but opportunistic. Automated systems constantly scan the internet for open ports, outdated software, misconfigurations or weak credentials. Once a weakness is found, the attack follows – regardless of company size or industry.
A penetration test is not a sign of mistrust but a tool of responsible IT security strategy.
